Non-destructive testing (NDT) is performed in all of branches, our experienced staff utilise our test bed facilities and specialist techniques to ensure your equipment is safe and meets legislative requirements.

Flaws can affect the serviceability of the material or structure, so NDT is important in guaranteeing safe operation and assessing lifting equipment. The flaws may be cracks or inclusions in welds and castings, or variations in structural properties which can lead to loss of strength or failure in service.

Non-destructive testing is used for in-service inspection and for condition monitoring of Lifting Equipment. The essential feature of NDT is that the test process itself produces no deleterious effects on the material or structure under test.

We can load test all lifting equipment up to 200 tonnes using our horizontal test bed facilities.

We also utilise other non-destructive techniques such as Magnetic Particle Inspection to check for any defects in metal parts.

Towne Lifting and Testing perform NDT on lifting equipment in-house and on-site. Please contact us to find out more non-destructive testing.
